This was the last competition of the season. I got back from the European Teams on Sunday and was travelling down to Surrey on the following Friday morning.
I had picked up abit of an illness at the Europeans but because of this event had carried on training. I managed to get through my matches on Friday evening against Victoria Lust 3-0 and Saturday morning against Isabelle Tweedle 3-0. Saturday afternoon however was to be a much harder match against world number 16 Aurstralian Kasey Brown.
I was feeling ok.... alittle lathargic probably because it was the end of the season and I had put alot of effort into doing as well as I could in Kuwait, Qatar, Seoul and the Europeans in April. I did not play well against Kasey and although I had games ball in the first game I lost 3-0. I never seemed to find my legs and my breathing was quite laboured throughout the match probably due to still being abit ill. However, Kasey played very well and deserved the victory on the day.
I am disappointed with myself to allow a poor finish to the season but on the whole with what i've done over the last 5 weeks i'm happy with my season and I will learn from this event for next year.
